For All Windows Computers: (MacIntosh users, refer to the Setup page for your version)

• Find the new dialup phone number for your local calling area in the chart below.
• Go to the Internet Options or Internet Properties page in your computer. There are many ways to do this, but the simplest is to open Internet Explorer (the big blue E). If your computer attempts to dialout, you can click cancel on the "Connect To" dialog. Next, click on Tools on the top and then Internet Options.
• Click the Connections tab.
• In the white box below Dialup and Virtual Private Network Settings locate your connection to Sylvan. It may be the only connection listed, but if not, it will probably show the Sylvan name and may have the word Default next to it. Double click this connection. The setting page for the connection will appear.
• Near the bottom locate your username and add @sylvaninfo.net to it (i.e. if your username was joe, change it to joe@sylvaninfo.net). Click the Properties button to the right of the username.
• Change your telephone number here by replacing the old dialup number with your new one. Remember, you don't need the area code since it's a local call (unless you're in an area that requires 10 digit dialing for local calling).
• New Recommended Step: Use server assigned name servers - For Windows-XP: Click the Networking tab at the top of the screen. Locate Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) in the box, highlight it and click the Properties button below. On the next screen, click the box marked "Obtain DNS Server Address automatically" if it isn't already. For Windows-95/98: Click the Servers Types tab at the top of the screen. Near the bottom right click the button called TCP/IP Settings. Near the middle, check the button marked "Server Assigned Name Server Addresses" if it isn't already.
